Retail Theft

Bryant Law PLLC > Practice Areas > Retail Theft

Under Kentucky law, retail theft is punishable by fines, a permanent criminal record, or fines. If you are facing retail theft charges, our attorneys will fight to have your charges reduced to a less-serious offense, or to have them dropped altogether.

If the items that were stolen are worth $500 or less, the charge will be classified as a Class A misdemeanor. In this case, the individual may face fines up to $500 and/or jail time. If the value of the items stolen is greater than $500, the individual may be charged with a felony. This is punishable by up to five years in jail or fines of up to $10,000 if convicted. Both charges can ultimately cause you to have a permanent criminal record.

If you are facing retail theft charges in Kentucky, do not hesitate to give us a call to discuss your options and begin building your case.
